Tip for the day!
One of the biggest problems that we have as webmasters is the amount of spam we receive to the various inboxes we have for our affiliate websites. This is mainly due to the fact that we all have a “contact us” page which clearly displays an email address. Spambots crawl the web and harvest these email addresses at an alarming rate and before you know it you’re getting 10,000 emails a day offering you viagra, mortgages and worse.
Now to combat this you could use a simple contact form, but if you’re a bit scared of all things “technical” like I am (and how worrying is it that I think a contact form is technical?!?!?) then there is a great solution. It is the Dynamic Drive Email Riddler and it really is very clever. All you do is enter your email address on the page and it transform your email address into a series of numbers when displaying it, making it virtually impossible for spam harvesters to crawl and add your email to their list. I have been using this for over a year now and I have never had any spam from any of the email address that use it. Best thing is that it is very simple to use, cut and paste the code into your site is all you need do!
