e-consultancy affiliate round table event

Had a very enjoyable afternoon yesterday at the e-consultancy affiliate marketing round table event in London. Despite there only being 12 seats originally it was fantastic to see around 30 people attend in the end. The affiliates were represented by myself, James from Flightmapping, Keith Budden and Clarke who was also wearing his Paid on Results network cap.

Perhaps the most encouraging thing to come out of the day was the number of high street brands who are interested in either growing their existing affiliate program or launching one. There was a real desire from these guys to learn more about the industry and how it can be used as a stand alone sales channel. I think the fact that the initial attendee list had grown from 12 to 30 was testament to that too.

Let’s hope that we see more of these events and that seasoned affiliates can be used as a sounding board and for consultancy when new merchants enter the affiliate arena.
