I’m back!
OK apologies for the recent lack of posts. As you can probably guess I’ve now moved house and am at last reasonably settled in. However….I am still without broadband!!!!! Apparently I am just on the edge of the broadband catchment area for my exchange. Unfortunately it took Wanadoo almost 20 days to tell me this, and when they did tell me I just got a “Dear John” email saying “sorry but we have to close your account as we can’t provide you with broadband”. Thanks Wanadoo.
Thinking I will be better off with BT (as they own the lines/exchange) I made the move to them. That was 10 days ago and still no broadband! However, they are investigating it and hopefully an engineer will be round this week to see if he can work any magic. The frustrating thing is that my neighbour who lives 15 metres away from me has a BT Broadband 512k connection no trouble at all. Still, I live in hope that one day I will rejoin the 21st century and get a decent connection to the web.
I have to say that dial-up is driving me *nuts*. I had forgotten the torture of waiting a minute for a page to load. Things that used to take 5 minutes now take 20. It is very, very frustrating. Which has led me to thinking…what if BT tell me I just can’t get broadband? What then? Satellite broadband? It may be an option but don’t like the idea of more cables/satellite dishes etc. Or maybe hire an office somewhere that has broadband? Certainly an option but isn’t that like having a “real” job? I mean the reason I love being an affiliate and being able to work from home is because I can get up in the morning unwashed, and switch my pc on wearing nothing but my boxers (sorry for that mental image everyone). Having an office would be too much like real work and a real job. Hmmm, something to think about.
Anyway, I am well and truly back online (although at a very slow speed) now so expect my blog to be kept reasonably up to date. I’d also like to apologise to all the merchants who have been very patient and polite when I have let content and links slip out of date. No more excuses, I’ve settled in, my study has been built and I am back!

Welcome to my blog. My name is Kieron Donoghue and I run UK Offer Media Ltd. I thought it would be fun to post a daily (well hopefully daily) blog, writing about my experiences in Internet Marketing and more specifically Affiliate Marketing. I'll include some personal stuff too, probably about my other passions, music and cars. Please feel free to post your comments and thoughts too.

Feel a bit sorry for you with the dial-up thing, there’s no way I could go back. Broadband access would be top of the list for me when choosing a new home. You’ll have to ask your neighbour if he wants to make some extra cash by setting up a Wireless bridge for you.
