The Aftermath (and the Afterparty)

I’ve just about recovered from last week’s events in London. The event supported two world records, one for the highest number of attendees (almost 400) and the second for the biggest hangover in the world ever (mine). I flew home at mid-day on the Friday and I was cradling the sick back for the whole duration of the flight. Thankfully I didn’t need to use it but was the closest I have ever come!

The main event on the Thursday was very well organised by Matt, Helen and the team. Kensington Roof Gardens is a great place with the option of getting some fresh air outside (which again was needed from the night before’s festivities). The mood was quite relaxed but I did feel that we (affiliates) were somewhat outnumbered by agencies, networks and merchants. Now this isn’t a bad thing as it shows these events are being taken more seriously. But I would recommend that any affiliate reading this who hasn’t been to do what you can to attend any future events. You can make great contacts and great friends, and lots and lots of hints and tips for your business.

Anyway the main event finished about 5pm on the Thursday, then it was back to the hotel for a quick power nap (really needed it). Then on to a fab restaurant with the girls from Silvertap/AM//BC who I would like to formally thank for their generosity, very kind of you. Then taxi to Tiger Tiger for more Peroni! I think this is where things stated to go downhill and my memory starts getting a bit hazy. One thing I’m sure of though is that I did have an amazing time there and a lot of laughs. Tyson then kindly organised us all together to head off to the Zoo Bar in Piccadilly (the Afterparty) which again was very good fun. I really can’t remember much from this point on apart from Malcolm being very generous with the Aftershocks and the bottles of Moet!

Apologies if I didn’t get the chance to speak to everyone during the couple of days. And even more apologies if I did get the chance to speak to you and didn’t make much sense (Peroni will do that to you).

Jason, the petrol jokes have got to stop man! Or else I’m going to scan and publish your cheapo business card and expose you for the tighwad you are!
