Link Swapping
OK we all know swapping links is important but so is the way you ask for them. I get hundreds of link swap emails every week and I bin about 99% of them.
Here’s what not to do in order to get a link swap.
Do not mass email me along with hundreds of other sites. Typically these emails are very generic, not addressed to any of my sites and they call me “potential link partner” or such drivel. If you do want to email me, make it personal and relevant.
Do not “invite” me to swap links without linking to me first. If you can’t be arsed to link to me in the first place then just don’t bother.
Do not link to me from a non-Google-indexed crappy link farm page, i.e. www.yoursite.com/link-partners/resources/uk-link-partners/commerce-links/goat-herders/resources/page-1-of-657888/friends/resources/linkdirectory/widgetsuppliers.htm
Do not link to me from a Google PR0 page. OK I know the whole PR debate and whether it means anything at all anymore. But if you can see my link page has a PR then please make sure yours does too.
Do not link to me from a site that is totally non related to mine. I get regular emails from people wanting a link from my Poker site to their Auto Accessories site because the owner thinks it is “relevant”.
Do not email me 2 weeks after your first lame link exchange request with a polite “reminder”.
Do not email me 4 weeks after your first lame link exchange request giving me a one week “link deactivation notice”.
Do not send me any bloody “articles” on a daily basis for inclusion on my site.
Think that just about covers it!

Welcome to my blog. My name is Kieron Donoghue and I run UK Offer Media Ltd. I thought it would be fun to post a daily (well hopefully daily) blog, writing about my experiences in Internet Marketing and more specifically Affiliate Marketing. I'll include some personal stuff too, probably about my other passions, music and cars. Please feel free to post your comments and thoughts too.
