When it comes to MSN Messenger I pretty much always accept "invitations" from new contacts who want to add me to their contact list. Lately I've been getting quite a few people adding me after visiting this blog and viewing my profile.
Now that's all well and good.
But...if you are one of these people adding me then by all means introduce yourself and say Hi. I'm quite a friendly person and am happy to chat, but please don't start your conversation like this.....
"Hi, how did you design www.ukoffer.com? How do you drive traffic to your site? And how much does the site earn?"
Or...
"What are your best performing keywords?"
Or...
"I'm new, how do I build a website and make money from it?"
And so on.
Like I say I'm happy to help and offer advice but please don't ask for anything that will jeopardise my business interests. Likewise, general information like how to build a site and make a start in affiliate marketing are available through a whole host of forums and articles on the web. One of the best places to start is the Affiliates 4U Forum.

Welcome to my blog. My name is Kieron Donoghue and I am the founder of ShareMyPlaylists.com, ContentNow.co.uk and some other stuff. I have no idea why I'm blue on this photo though but I like it!

Heya
Read this blog with interest – have had a quick gander at the Sitepoint thread too (kudos for doing that).
Seems to me that, beyond PPC techniques and well-built landing pages, the key thing is first-mover advantage.
So, my question is, how do you go about ‘trendspotting’? I tend to do it as a hobby through various blogs (engadget, Hitwise, etc etc etc) but I was wondering if you had any thoughts on the matter? Do you keep it quite high-level (eg Robo-Sapiens and other hot products) or do you also do it within a market, eg mobile phone model numbers, new technologies, hot new holiday spots?
Relatedly, do you think it’s good to start with one big campaign/product/merchant or with numerous small (and hopefully cheap) ones? I have a tiny bit of seed capital that I’d love to invest, have returned and then grow my AM business out of any profits. The timescales with AM payments adds yet another bit of complexity to this idea though.
Keep up the blogging, and thanks in advance for any thoughts you’d care to share.
I have a browse at the Google Zeitgeist, I also see what my kids are nagging me for!
You can sign up to various websites that give you trend spots, although I cannot remember the URLs, or if they are really that useful!
