CJ/WebmasterRadio.FM launch Affiliate Podcast

WebmasterRadio.FM recently launched a new weekly radio show called “Affiliate Marketing Today”. Its hosted by Kim Dalzell and Brian Caldwell of Commission Junction and so far has broadcast 2 episodes.

The first episode was entitled “Brian & Kim introduce the all new Affiliate Marketing Today” and is basically an introduction to the world of AM so great for newbies.

The second episode is “Overview of Publisher Business Models” and as the title suggests Brian and Kim introduce and review the various publisher business models that have been adopted by some of the publishers in AM. The discussion focuses on why certain publisher business models are more effective than others as well as covering best practices for advertisers and publishers to align themselves for maximum return on their individual efforts. All in all a good show with some interesting chat on various publishing models and what the advertisers think of them.

Next week’s podcasts features a top 10 lists for advertisers - what they are interested in seeing from affiliates. So should be worth tuning in for too.

My one criticism would be the complete cheesiness of the ads that run throughout. Now I know that they have to run ads but why oh why do they *all* sound like something from the 1970’s? They all have some voiceover guy who over emphasises every second word in the deepest possible voice possible. Imagine Will Ferrell in Anchorman and you’ll know what I mean.

What I’m listening to right now: Kanye West - “Late Registration”
