At last…the Escalade is here!

The new ‘Lade finally arrived today and what a beauty! I’ve posted some pictures below but they really don’t do the car justice. It is everything I hoped it would be and more, a real big improvement on the last model.

Anyway, here it is!

It’s the same as your last one.. it’s even got the same number plate ;o)

Think it needs a bit of pimping up with a few underlights and foghorns.

Anyway try and keep this one long enough just so i can see it.

To say that it’s big is an understatement.

Enjoy!

Wow. That is a monster (in a good way)! Looks like your garage is only just tall enough for it :)

The last picture really shows it off well.

Actually Paul yes it does! The Escalade ESV is the long wheelbase version but even I thought that was too big.

Yes, it’s big and shiney, but…err. why do you need one? It’s not as though your work off road is it?!

Anonymous - no I don’t work off road but who says I have to, to own an Escalade??

Looks like the garage is about 2 inches too short, to be honest.

Did you look at the faster, better equipped, better upholstered and better designed Porsche Cayenne Turbo?

There’s a Dodge Ram SRT-10 opposite me at the moment. It has mismatched panel gaps, a dashboard made of the same plastic Kinder use inside their eggs and (!) leaf springs on the rear wheels. Leaf springs. Medieval horsecarts had leaf springs.

I’d never buy anything american that’s not at least 30 years old, but good luck to you - you’ve obviously been looking foward to it.

anonymous - yes I did look at the Porsche Cayenne Turbo. And yes it is more powerful and yes the interior is class leading. However I just can not get away with the design and styling at all so its just not for me. I keep thinking…why would I pay £70k (starting price) for a VW Toureg with a Porsche badge? :-)

And I take your point about American craftmanship not being up to European standards. However it has improved a lot recently; I can see a huge difference between my new Escalade and the old one.

I got it from Charles at http://www.51stateautos.com. It is a US import as Cadillac don’t sell them in the UK. See Charles for prices.

Kieron - nice wheels - couple of “go faster” stripes should just top it off nicely ;-)

There is going to be an Escalade launched into Europe later this year. However nobody knows what spec it will be and if it will reach the UK. Last time I spoke to a Caddy dealer he said that the UK wasn’t a target market.

Completely agree about the styling of the Porsche Cayenne Turbo. It doesn’t even come close to to the new Escalade in my opinion.

You got the new Escalade! *catching my breath* You are crazy (in a good way) and I would do just the same :) I prefer an XLR though.
