It seems that my post a week or so ago regarding my experiences with CJ have created a bit of interest, so I thought I would follow up with an update today.
Jonathan Forster, who is the European Development Director for CJ called me today for a chat about the points I raised. I've met Jonathan a few times and I can genuinely say he's a nice guy (he even claims some sort of link with North East England, so he definitely can't be that bad). Anyway, Jonathan took the time to explain some of the history and legal policies in place that CJ have to adhere too and which can be somewhat binding. That's not to say he was making excuses or necessarily agreeing with them, just that there is a framework in place that they have to work within.
What did become clear during the course of the conversation is that Jonathan does understand and appreciate the needs of affiliates and is not at all looking to avoid dialogue. In all fairness it could have been easy (and maybe expected) for CJ to read my blog and simply ignore it. However, a phone call from Jonathan followed by an email and another call from a CJ Publisher development Manager all occurred today. So hats off to CJ for not sticking their collective heads in the sand.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not about to switch all my links to CJ just yet :-) There are still some issues outstanding and I feel they do need to reach out to affiliates a whole lot better. However I do hope that now that we have initiated a conversation, that we can keep it going and extend it out to the rest of the Affiliate community here in the UK.

Welcome to my blog. My name is Kieron Donoghue and I am the founder of ShareMyPlaylists.com, ContentNow.co.uk and some other stuff. I have no idea why I'm blue on this photo though but I like it!
Good to hear, shows they still have a chance. I think when you are the biggest you get lazy and forget how quickily you can get your ass kicked by the tiny guy who can do better tracking, better service, and generally is staffed by better people.
I’m glad to hear CJ actually made the call – I never hear from them at all myself, whereas all the other networks seem to ring up for checkups now and again.
A nice touch, and often prompts me to try a new promotion. So it does work!
