RIP Bulldog Broadband
June 30th 2006 was a very sad day for me. Why? Well it was the day Bulldog Broadband stopped accepting new residential broadband customers and closed their affiliate program.
So why will you miss it? - I hear you say! Well despite teething problems in the early years and a couple of problems more recently the program worked really well for me. Firstly as their service is only available to a reasonably small number of people in the UK they were willing to pay a premium for new customers collected, a lot more than normal broadband providers. Secondly, they allowed brand name bidding which also helped me to drive traffic. Thirdly, it was one of those affiliate programs that most affiliates never really bothered with. Sure, some people promoted them but they were nowhere near as exposed as the mainstream UK broadband providers.
So all in all I will miss Bulldog for all the above reasons. I’ve promoted them off and on for over 3 years now so I am genuinely sad to see them go. In the words of Trevor Nelson…”Bulldog, we salute you!”
