CJ Javascript Link Initiative - U Turn
Back in June I blogged about the Commission Junction Link Initiative and how it would turn a lot of affiliates off (and did).
Anyway, seems that CJ have finally realised the error of their ways and have released this statement today:
“On August 30, 2006 publishers will notice changes in getting links in the CJ Account Managerâ„¢. This change will make it easier for publishers to choose either HTML or JavaScript links. To reiterate there are no plans to remove support for HTML links.
However, advertisers will have the option to designate a link as JavaScript-only (with the exception of keyword links), if they deem it necessary. Commission Junction encourages its advertisers to support both HTML and JavaScript link formats, to meet the varied needs of publishers.”

Yea, the Affiliate won!
Hi Kieron,
I’ve been reading your blog for a while now and have been using commission junction for a short while as well. I don’t understand the underlying reason for everyone not wanting javascript links. I guess I’m naive, but could you explain what the problem is and why you favor html links.
Thanks,
Marc
anonymous - if you read my original post on the CJ link initiative you will see why this is so.
