I was wondering how you would keep such a person from working for you for awhile, then leaving to do the same thing on their own?

Only reason I ask is I’ve been pondering this and am not sure I would want to reveal too much to any individual.

To be honest that is one of the main reasons why I have put off having staff all these years. I guess the one good thing that I have going is that I have lots of established sites and domains as well as a sizeable ppc budget.

Couldn’t you get some kind of non-compete agreement written into their contract?

But just taking care of design and content shouldn’t be very risky anyway. If you needed a staff member to manage your PPC campaigns or something, that would be a different matter.

Huge step taking on a full time member of staff. Good luck! :)

Hi Kieron,

Saw this post on the front page of WMW and thought of your post…

I know it’s not 100% on topic but does bring up many issues that must be going through your mind when bringing on somebody to share the load. Hope it helps.

Cheers
Paul.
