Less than a year ago a Super Affiliate called Jon from the USA set up his own Internet marketing, affiliate webmaster forum. He was getting a bit sick of the over zealous moderators from other web forums so decided to launch his own. WickedFire was born.
Jon set the site up to be a "no holds barred" kinda place where people can chat and hang out with no fear of reprimand from the mods. Its not all laughs though as there's a serious side and some good advice and comments from the contributors. It has gained quite a following from its launch and most of the well known commentators/bloggers from the US are members. In a space of a few months it has nearly 3,500 members and close to 100,000 posts. A success by any standard.
However, today posted that he had an offer for $16 million for the forum! So is a forum that is around 6 months old, has nearly 3,500 members and generates zero revenue worth $16 million? It would seem it is to somebody.
Amazingly, Jon turned down the offer immediately. Check out the thread for yourself, the debate rages on and makes gripping reading.
What I'm listening to right now: James Brown (RIP) - "Funky Drummer"
Affiliate Marketing - WickedFire

Welcome to my blog. My name is Kieron Donoghue and I am the founder of ShareMyPlaylists.com, ContentNow.co.uk and some other stuff. I have no idea why I'm blue on this photo though but I like it!
I think its rediculous!
Do you really believe the guy ?
Check out my blog when you get a chance

Sounds to me like a hoax for generating hits.
This is viral marketing and nothing much more.
Kieron,
It was a joke posted several months ago. Can’t believe you fell for it. Check the post date and read the full thread.
Anonymous, it was posted yesterday 6th January 2007. As for the fact that its a joke…well who knows.
Yep, pure b.s. Mission accomplished though, he even got you to make a post about it!
Am I the only one that doesn’t believe a word this guy says?
I think it’s a pants forum; I used to be a regular poster there, but all it seems to be about is scrapers and made for adsense sites.
“no holds barred”??? I got banned within 2 miuntes. Wickedfire is just bs’ing to get more hits. No investor willing to put up that much money is stupid enough to make an offer like that. No website owner with a phpBB website that took 2 seconds to setup would not be stupid enough to not accept millions of dollars for it.
WickedFire is the shit. Could be true, could be link bait… makes for some good conversation, haha.
Just a bunch of little bitches that got kicked out of the warrior forum. You can tell they are kids. Why on earth would you actually believe someone offered that moron 16 million for that piece of crap site?
If the affiliate community needs anything, it’s a step away from everyone being mindless sheep. If you (the random reader) learn anything from this post, it’s this: Please realize that people that are making money don’t talk about it. They (dare I say “we”) are either too busy, or they don’t want the competition. If they do decide to share information, they’re going to charge you for it. Notice I didn’t say charge you for good information… paying money for information doesn’t automatically make it valuable!
There is an exception to me selling you information though. If you’re my friend and I trust you, I’ll take you under my wing and look out for you; but I’m also ever aware that no amount of friends pays my bills. And as much as I love you, don’t expect me to show you everything I’m working on. Envy’s still a deadly sin, folks… between friends it’s far more sinister.
To read the rest of my rant…
Just another hoax to generating hits just like plentyoffish.
Well done Jon : )
Jon made a revision saying this was a misunderstanding, it was an offer for his entire company, not just WickedFire.
Reguardless, there is a big difference between sitting at home all day in the middle of nowhere and living in NYC making contacts. Dumb money or smart money, you guys are behind on the times if you don’t understand how fast its flowing. $16 million in a drop of the hat in a city where the top earners pocket billions of dollars a year.
Yes the wickedfire forum has certainly gained lot of popularity these days. The traffic of the site is quiet and also very helpful for members who are marketing their site. Lets see how it goes in upcoming days.
WickFire is ridiculous! They dont want to help people they only want to smack them up with words!
