5 reasons why you should buy Introducing Joss Stone

I’ve never been a Joss Stone fan at all, I’ve always found her music just a bit too cheesy. However this has all changed with her new album, Introducing Joss Stone. Here’s 5 reasons why you should buy it, play it loud and love it.
1. And this is the biggest reason. The album is produced by Raphael Saadiq, for anyone who doesn’t know Raphael was an original member of Tony! Toni! Tone!, he then went on to form R&B supergroup Lucy Pearl with the fantastic Dawn Robinson from En Vogue and Ali Shaheed Muhammad from hip-hop legends A Tribe Called Quest. Sadly Lucy Pearl only released 1 album but what an album! He then released 3 solo albums which are just bloody awesome. Seriously the man is a genius, if you like R&B of any flavour then you need these albums. They are…Instant Vintage, All Hits at the House of Blues and Ray Ray. The man is multi talented, he writes, sings, produces and arranges most of the tracks on Joss’s album and you it really shows. Pure class.
2. Common and the fabulous Lauryn Hill also feature on 2 of the tracks.
3. The best 3 songs are….”Baby Baby Baby”, a classic Motown feel-good sound track. Raphael plays bass on it and it features live drums (a rarity these days). Brilliant.
“Girl They Won’t Believe It” is the best track on the album. Think upbeat 70’s disco mixed with Raphael’s trademark modern beats and shuffling rhythms.
“Tell Me ‘Bout It” (the first single) is classic vintage Raphael, funky bass, funky horns, funky drums and sounds like you’ve heard it before.
4. She has a really great voice. Listen to “Bruised But Not Broken” and tell me otherwise.
5. The first track “Introduction” is actually a monologue by football hooligan turned Hollywood “star” Vinnie Jones.
Erm OK that’s probably a reason *not* to but the album.
6. She is only 19. How good is she going to get?
