ShopWindow Toolset from Affiliate Window rocks

As an affiliate I’ve always kept away from datafeeds. Mainly because I hear so many nightmare stories about merchants never updating them and about them holding incorrect information and loads and loads of issues regarding category mapping and standardisation.
So I was intrigues to hear about the announcement of the ShopWindow Toolset from Affiliate Window. Now instead of having to manually download product feeds and then manipulate them via a database the ShopWindow Toolset does it all for you automatically. Setting up is easy (or so my developer says) and all you need to do is download the software and follow the instructions. Then, with a minimum of fuss you can build a site like my new toy site.
Another feature I like about the ShopWindow Toolest is that it has “Hot Picks” for each category. These are the best selling products at any given time and change according to the season, latest trends etc. So in other words once you have built a site like eToys then it takes zero maintenance to keep it updated, my type of site!
So as well as a great product there is also a forum where affiliates can interact with the team behind the product as well as other affiliates. This is a first within the industry and I commend Affiliate Window on taking such a proactive approach to communicating with their affiliates and listening to them.
I really do think this is a great product and Affiliate Window have done a great job in launching this product. My eToys site is the first of many that I plan to build using the technology.
What I’m listening to right now: Justin Timberlake - “Sexyback”. Saw him on Monday at the Newcastle Arena, and he rocked! Can’t decide who was best though, JT or Timbaland who did the half time show.

Welcome to my blog. My name is Kieron Donoghue and I run UK Offer Media Ltd. I thought it would be fun to post a daily (well hopefully daily) blog, writing about my experiences in Internet Marketing and more specifically Affiliate Marketing. I'll include some personal stuff too, probably about my other passions, music and cars. Please feel free to post your comments and thoughts too.

That looks like some good stuff. Like yourself I’ve never tried data feeds - in my case as I don’t think my skills are up to it. However, something that does all the stuff looks well worth looking into.
On the downside, I don’t know if it’s just me, but it does seem a bit laggy. I hope AW can keep up the server demands that such a tool will cause.
Going to have to come to grips with it, I guess… we paid to have a database search custom-written to use AW’s feeds on MyBathroomFinder and expect to be able to reuse the search again on new sites… this may make that obsolete. Mixed blessing, I suppose!
Looks good and something i need to look at as would be an ideal option for some sites. Few things will need sorting out though for it to work as I’d prefer it though
Great for PPC landing pages etc - be interesting to see how it converts?
And with Awin plucking big brands left right and centre, they’re definitely blazing a trail in AM.
Site looks pretty ace. I am currently changing the code like crazy to try and get some extra features to run. Fist time using it so I can’t wait to see how it all works out.
Justin timberlake? Everyone must come out of the closet sometime.
Not that there is anything wrong with that.
Looks like a great feature. I have used data feeds and yup, they are a nightmere. I shall certainly give this thing a try.
Have you tried AffiliStore? Same thing but allow you to set up feeds from all networks. And its Free!
I will definitely check it out. In fact, it is exactly what I was looking for.
Hi Your site certainly looks good. I am new to Affiliate IM and came across AW almost by accident so still trying to get my brain around it. Funny though I was drafting out plans to build a shopping mall type approach for various schemes so find the Shop Window approach of interest. Need to spend some time looking into it though. and looking forward to mre entries on your blog.
cheers
I’ve tried Affilistore, Price Tapestry, and now ShopWindow. It’s not the manipulation of datafeeds that I find difficult; it’s the design of a site for a specific niche. Yes, you can download the product data and display it but it’s how it’s displayed that takes hours to sort out.
