Apologies - blog redesign in progress

Well today I decided to change the Blogger template I am using to something a bit more up to date. So I did and was happy with the results…except for the fact that I lost all the additional widgets and sponsors ads that I had installed over the months. Well I haven’t lost them, I have them saved I just haven’t worked out how to put them into the new Blogger template as its a whole different structure.

So I then decided rather than customising the new Blogger template maybe it was time to make the move to Wordpress as everyone keeps telling me how much better it is. So can anybody recommend someone who can build good custom Wordpress templates? Please drop me a line if you do at info at ukoffer dot com or leave a comment here.

Many thanks.

Hi Kieron, there are tons of themes for free at http://themes.wordpress.net/

Just pick a layout you like and then it’s pretty easy to get someone to change the logo, colours, fonts etc.

Main things to choose are whether you want columns of navigation & widgets down one side, both sides, or 2 columns of widgets on one side.
After that decide at how you want any static pages (such as ‘about me’)displayed. Do you want them at all? Do you want them in tabs or drop down menus.

I’ve got a designer who has done a couple for clients who wanted a blog in the same style as their corporate sites. I’m sure he could do you one in the style of UKOffer.com!

I just picked a new theme for mine as I was getting too carried away with the widgets and not focussing on the content enough, one of the downsides of Wordpress is there are so many widgets to play with I sometimes forget about the actual content.
