Stop messing about for goodness sake - just do it!
OK this post is inspired by countless threads on various webmaster forums, you know the type of threads I mean, like these:
”I think I have found a really untapped niche with no competition, do you think if I launched a site in this niche I would make money?”
“How long does it take to make money from a blog”
“Can you really make money with AdSense?”
“If I have found an available domain name that is a very popular phrase and gets 500,000 Overture searches a month, shall I register it?”
“Can I still make money by promoting loans/mobile phones/widgets etc. online?”
Whether you are browsing DigitalPoint, Affiliates4U or SitePoint then I can guarantee you there will always be somebody posting these type of questions. So here’s the answer to them all:
Who cares what I think, just do it!
Really, by the time you ask people, gather opinion etc. then I could have done it and made enough money to buy you a new car.
I don’t know if these type of people are especially needy or need some sort of validation but I just don’t see the point of asking these type of questions. Trust me, for the sake of say £6 for a domain, a free blog from Blogger or Wordpress and some cheap hosting then just find out for yourself. Whats the worst that could happen? It will fail and you will lose a few £. Big deal. You will have learned something really valuable, what works and what doesn’t. And if you know what doesn’t work then you are one step closer to finding out what does work aren’t you?
So next time you think about making a pointless post on a forum. Stop, don’t. Instead just go and try it. Who knows you may even be successful and make some money! Perish the thought.

Welcome to my blog. My name is Kieron Donoghue and I run UK Offer Media Ltd. I thought it would be fun to post a daily (well hopefully daily) blog, writing about my experiences in Internet Marketing and more specifically Affiliate Marketing. I'll include some personal stuff too, probably about my other passions, music and cars. Please feel free to post your comments and thoughts too.

Your advice is what people need to hear, blunt and to the point and it details the path that i took, i failed alot but but i learned alot and it wasn’t till about 3months ago before i starting earning something decent. Yesterdays earnings reached £300 which aint bad for the niche.
Yep, good post, good advice. I’ll just add, since I never ask these questions, I’m an expert at failure and slowly learning what works.
I also don’t like the skeptics who don’t believe you can’t make money online. It does sometimes take a bit of work, but it’s not rocket science.
Spot on post.
I went through this myself, but later found it was a fear of failure that was keeping me from doing it instead of talking about doing it.
The thought of what could be done and the end results felt better then actually doing it because if I didn’t ever do it, I couldn’t fail at it and be disappointed.
Bottomline, it’s all in your head, just do it!
I have a great reply to your excellent blog post mate, but I’m not sure if I should write it here… what do other readers think
haha, kieron, think i know exactly the thread on a4u that probably resulted in you blogging this, my reply to him was as blunt as always…”either do it or give me the keywords, i wont hesitate”! Just a shame i then got a few PM’s asking advise, and i know very little, but just give it a go regardless. I agree that for a few lousy quid, you would gain more from further learning, and failed attempts help in the long run, we’ve all had them!
Very true - people need to get on and try things out! I recently wrote an article on my blog about the importance of experimenting - failure should not necessarily be seen in a negative way; after all, you have learnt something new from the process.

Good advice. The new car bit was a bit ‘guru’ though don’t you think
I agree with this advice wholeheartedly. I’ve tried so many niches and had so many failures, but now and again you just hit upon something that works.
I normally concentrate on faddy stuff with a short shelf life and last year I found a niche that made me £60k in the space of about 3 months. This year I found a niche that is making me up to £20k per week in profit. I’m now looking for my next niche.
Your stressed on a good point.
Trial and error is the best option that a noob has no matter what they are doing.
