3 real life examples of how to make more money online

As I’m sure you know by now I’m not a fan of blogs or people who tell you that they achieved loads of great stuff - then don’t tell you how. So I thought I would share recent blog posts that go against the grain and actually tell you how to get things done, with examples. They are all great reads and all discuss different aspects of online marketing.

1. SEO:This post from Dfinitive.com tells us how the author achieved a number 1 ranking in Google for some pretty targeted keywords related to a particular niche. Its got some great links to resources that helped the author achieve this and gives readers an easy to follow step by step guide. So, rinse and repeat! Click here to read the blog post in full.

2. Pay Per Click: I love this blog post. Its from Digerati Marketing and it examines some funky methods of increasing your CTR in Google AdWords. Really good stuff. Click here to read the blog post in full.

3. Monetising a Site: This is my favourite from all 3. Its a “how to” guide to monetising a blog. It tells the story of a guy called Ken who was diagnosed with diabetes a couple of years ago. In an effort to learn more about the disease and to share the information with others he launched a blog. Note, he didn’t create the site to make money - which I always say is the best way to make money. If you see what I mean. In other words, when creating a site, create it to be useful and a place people will want to come and visit. Do that and the money will follow. Anyway, his blog is now earning $40k a year and rising. Not bad at all for supplemental income. Click here to read the blog post in full.

    Hi Kieron,

Thanks for mentioning my blog post about how to get to number 1 in google. :)

    Thanks a lot,

    Julian.

The third point is cool :) . I started my first real web site just for fun and I didn’t even know about AdSense or other advertising opportunities. As time went by I learnt something about how to attract people to a web site. Naturally, I learnt everything on my own site because it is not possible to get a “recipe” for success.

And even I am far away from $40K a year, my site is always getting better. It earned more than $5000 (mainly this year). Later I launched another 3 sites and yesterday I found one of it ranked better in Google, so maybe I’ll have another good source of income :) . Of course, everything goes easier when you know what to do and how to do it.

I think 40,000$ far exceeds “supplemental income”.

Great article! 40k would be a nice “supplement” :-)
