Guest Post 3: A buy.at man in New York

My third guest blogger is “Big Mal” sharing his experiences of the Big Apple, all in the name of world domination for buy.at. A Geordie in New York…

Well I thought buy.at had come a long way when I came down to London in 2006 to help set up shop. Here I am now though for the second time in a month in Manhattan setting things up for buy.at in advance of our full US launch in Mid November. I’ll be living in NYC full time after this and although it’s exciting it’s also nerve racking at the same time – I mean they don’t even sell Regal King Size??

This being said though I have to point out that I’m a big fan of the US and New York in particular with it’s no nonsense, straight talking, fast paced vibe its suits me well. Not to mention they serve steak here that is so big it could kill a man – perfect! To get to that steak you can take one of the 10,000 yellow cabs that the city has ready for you – those who know me well know how much I love this fact!

I need to work on my accent a bit though having been mistaken so far for German, Dutch, Australian, Irish, Scottish and even South African since I started traveling over the pond. Luckily it’s not stopping us winning new business here (probably because they can’t understand me J) and I’m sure I’ll have everyone in NYC saying WHYAYE and CANNY before too long!!

I’d like to take this opportunity to say a big personal thanks to all the UK affiliates + clients that I have worked with over the years for making this man’s dream of taking on the US networks a reality. I’ll be eternally grateful and if any of you reading this are in NYC then be sure to look me up for a few drinks.

As usual I have a few aces up my sleeve which will ensure buy.at makes headway in the US affiliate market. Our current offering is very strong on many fronts compared to our US peers and our approach and experience will serve us well as we look to work with the biggest US brands. I’m not going to give too much away in this blog entry but suffice to say any brands wanting to know more can get in touch on the details below.

Who knows how far our dream can go and what 2008 will bring for buy.at and affiliate marketing in general. For now though I’m just enjoying taking our first few bites out of the big apple and making sure the US market has a viable choice in this channel.

Thanks to Kieron for all your support over the years and the opportunity to be a guest blogger today – cheers mate!

Ha Ha - like Shawn is going to know what a tab is :)

A tab is a smoke, cigarette, durry - that sort of thing

And Regal King Size is a top brand, most famous in the North Of England… (They didn’t sell them in London the last time I was there)
