Lack of 3G is a real step back for the iphone, and lack of bluetooth is just as bad for the ipod touch.

How is anybody supposed to get a half decent internet connection on the move?

Is E2save definitely getting the iPhone? I understood only CPW outlets were going to sell the product.

I’m not taken in by the hype for this product at all, no 3G, no MMS, no video recording, poor SMS entry. I’d rather have an N95 8GB, or N81 8GB, or SE W950 or SE W910…..

I guess O2’s PPC budget isn’t being entirely wasted as they are just directing visitors to a phone line instead of taking orders online.

Affiliates, on the other hand, who are sending traffic to O2 are probably wasting their time at the moment and generating some sales which not being tracked if their users are being told to phone in.

Yes I agree with Jamie. The absence of 3G is real drawback. I think I’d be lost without it which is why i’m hesitant about getting an iphone. Rumours on engadget say they will release a 3G version early next year though.

Only Carphone Warehouse themselves can sell the iPhone, it won’t be available through E2Save, OneStopPhoneShop, Mobiles.co.uk or PhoneSpot (all CPW partners)

Hi Bob/Kieron,

It’s true that at the moment CPW and 02 will only be selling the iPhone, rather than e2save and Onestopphoneshop, ThePhoneSpot or Mobiles.

I know the iPhone will sell but it’s a strange stratgy for apple to release the touch at roughly the same time…the big question is will this affect sales of the iphone…

The iPhone will sell but at over £200 it is very very expensive - and this is with an 18 month contract! I expect it will be more or less free by spring 2008.

O2 always seem to update their online store late at night - but not late enough…I can’t count on 2 hands the number of times I have tried to access their store in the past month (before midnight) only for it to be down for maintenance!
