BlogRush launched – cool new widget to deliver FREE traffic to your blog

blogrush.jpg

Internet Marketing guru John Reese unveiled his new product to the world yesterday; BlogRush. See the new widget in my sidebar to the right? That's the BlogRush widget and I have to say its pretty cool. Whats more important though is its free and a fantastic way to get more traffic to your blog. There's also the option to block sites you don't want displayed on your widget and you can even add negative keywords. Just watch, this widget is going to be on every blog there is, very soon. :) See the video below for a full explanation of how BlogRush works. The blogosphere (yuk I used that word again) is certainly going mad for this right now. I have some doubts about it (spam being the main one) but of course I’ve signed up anyway.

Without Google-like content spidering it seems very dependent on your own classification of your site to figure out which feeds to display. I notice you seem to have picked “Computers and Internet” whereas DoshDosh and ShoeMoney (and me) have gone for “Marketing” which seems to produce slightly more relevant stories for an affiliate marketing blog.

  2. Jesse says:

I’ve added it to one of my blogs but I ended up putting it in lifestyle as their wasn’t a student category :( lol

I’ll see how it goes, haven’t used it on my affiliate blog as I don’t see mine as the most useful lol. Good find though and I used your link to sign up ;)

If anyone thinks that a pyramid schemed traffic driving machine is a good idea… Watch it fail.

Dissapointed to see you jump on the bandwagon, Kieron.

    cheers

  4. Kieron says:

Imperium, what are you on about? Do you know what a pryamid scheme is?

It may fail and it may not but with something like 15,000 new users in the first day I don’t think its likely.

Still not got total buy in with this to be honest. My sites are more niche and general retail so not sure how they will fit in.

Also not convinced people will actually click on links.

Kieron what results have you seen so far mate.

  6. Richie says:

Not convinced about this on yet myself either. First off, I haven’t had anything more than a handful of referrals, so it’s hardly helping me out. Secondly, as other folk mention in the comments above it isn’t very adept at choosing decent things to link to. Worth a go but definitely disappointed – keep my fingers crossed for a few weeks yet!
