You asked, I listened!
Following on from everybody’s feedback, I’ve made some slight tweaks to my blog design to address the following issues, namely:
1. “Too much above the fold” - I’ve got rid of the “recent posts” box at the top of the page and replaced it with a smaller “popular posts” box. I think this is quite interesting as the clever little plugin tells you what the most popular posts are and automatically displays them here.
2. The random checkbox in the comments section has been fixed. Its now labelled, you can tick it if you want to subscribe to comments on a post.
3. Comments smartened up. A few people said you couldn’t see where one comment finished and another one started. Well they are now nested and if you are a MyBlogLog member it shows your pretty picture next to your comment. Nice touch this as its great to “see” the people you are talking to.
5. Top commentators. To reward the people who interact with the blog most there is now a list (along with links) of the top 13 commentators in the footer of the blog. Just a little “thankyou” for taking the time out to leave a comment, Ireally do appreciate you guys!
6. Lucia’s Link Love: This plugin is fantastic. From now on, if a commentator posts more than 3 times then their link becomes “dofollow” instead of “nofollow”. This means you get to share some of the blog’s link love.
7. Ads: Yes there are 2 more 120×600 ads on the new design than the old design. I’m really appreciative to my sponsors so these will be staying in 
Have you clicked on them? I only accept ads from companies/products that I would use/endorse personally. I’ve actually turned down good money from potential advertisers that I just wouldn’t want featured on this blog so rest assured my advertisers are of the highest quality.

I have a suggestion Kieron. Could the “n comments” text at the bottom of the article link to the comments? If I’m reading your posts on the home page it’s a bit tedious having to scroll back up and find the start of the post to go read the comments. Mind you, I am incredibly lazy.

Kieron, I think it’s looking pretty good.
Any chance you can list the plugins that you are using? You mention a few above but don’t state what they are.
Also while I am now seeing the ‘Subscribe to comments via email’ checkbox above where comments are inserted, I am also seeing that ‘random checkbox’ with no text below where comments are entered.

LTDJ - the comments link at the bottom of the post is now clickable. Not sure what the Italian alt text is you are seeing as I can’t replicate that here. I just see the users names as they should be.
PropertyIreland - The random tickbox in the comments seems to be some sort of bug, we’re working on a fix now. I’ll do a post at a later date listing all my plugins too.

The changes look so much better. I’m still seeing a random tick box beneath the ‘Add Comment’ button though I now see a new tick box and label above the comment box itself.
I’ve just delved deeper and the tick box below is a subscribe box too, just with no label.

Wow, That Blog Re-Design Bandwagon Moves Fast!…
Unless you live in a cave, you’ll have noticed Kieron’s new blog design and James Little’s new look.
Well that looks like a fun new bandwagon to jump onto so I’m announcing I will soon be releasing……
