The Buy.at WidgAt

buyatwidgat3.jpg

I’m not normally one for Widgets but despite the cheesy name I really like the Buy.at WidgAt.

If you login to the Buy.at interface you will see a link to the WidgAt on the left hand side. Simply follow the instructions to download (you need to download the Yahoo! Widget Engine too) and you will be up and running in a few minutes.

Basically the WidgAt is a clever gizmo that sits on your desktop and updates live every time you make a sale. As you can see it displays number of transactions, EPC and all that good stuff. But the best thing? It make a ker-ching! noise every time a sale comes through. Now I may be a simple affiliate but this kind of thing really makes me smile :)

If I had one piece of feedback its that I would like the ability to click somewhere on the WidgAt and be taken straight to the reporting screen within the Buy.at interface so I can see the sales in more detail. Other than that, I love it!

What I’m listening to right now: Angie Stone: “The Art of Love and War” - Pure class.

Corr, I like that! Would be awesome to have something like this for all networks that worked on the mac dashboard.

Hi Kieron
I have been using the buy.at widget for a while…it’s great when the ker-chings keep on coming! AffMeter is another way to check your commissions from different merchants all in one place - this is a cool piece of software that also sits in the background on your desktop and saves loads of time when checking your earnings.

HI Kieron,

Thanks for the great feedback on WidgAt.

I think the idea of clicking on the WidgAt to take you to the buy.at interface is a great one. I’ll get our techies on to that!

Just to let you all know that WidgAt does work on a Mac dashboard too.

I might give this a try for the ka-ching effect alone. Nothing beats this sound.

We also have our Desktop Alert system that allows you to;
- click through to your stats
- deliver news to your desktop
- and it has had a ka-ching noise.

You can download this from your affiliate area.

Hi Kevin. I did see this but as far as I could see your widget is just to deliver news items of interest to affiliates. Does it also give a running update of the commission generated?

Hi Kieron
Yes it does. It pops up commissions as they come in and shows a running total.

Hi Kevin, it may be worth changing your description on the Desktop Alerts page as there is no mention whatsoever of the fact that commissions are viewable in the widget.

Also, how do I download it? It says “click on the link to the right” and also “click on the icon above” but there is no link or icon! I’m logged into my account so am confused as to why I can’t download it. Come on, I want some more kerchings!!!
