Knightrider back on TV, Glaswegian car hero and the new Land Rover LRX
A bit of car gossip for petrolheads to bring in the New Year.
KITT is making a comeback in a new 2 hour TV movie to be shown in the US in February 2008 and this time KITT is a Ford Mustand Shelby GT500KR. Picture and teaser video below. I hope we get the show in the UK soon.

I love this story of a Glaswegian millionaire who imported a Dodge Ram from the US so that the council couldn’t tow him away when he parks on double yellow lines. Pure class.

Now I normally don’t like small cars but I must say that I love this new Land Rover LRX Concept. Its a 2 door, and is smaller than their current smallest model the Freelander. However it looks very very cool. Lets hope the production version due in a couple of years remains faithful to the concept.

As ever the brilliant Car Magazine has a review here and a video here.

Welcome to my blog. My name is Kieron Donoghue and I run UK Offer Media Ltd. I thought it would be fun to post a daily (well hopefully daily) blog, writing about my experiences in Internet Marketing and more specifically Affiliate Marketing. I'll include some personal stuff too, probably about my other passions, music and cars. Please feel free to post your comments and thoughts too.

I have been looking for a mustang for few weeks and a dealer in the US has already offered me a Knight Rider kit for $5000 on top of the base car price.
With regards to Mr Love, Top guy and some seriously nice cars like a Phantom, Phantom drop-top, 599, SLR etc. I have had a good few run ins with Glasgow parking attendants myself and after one incident where the idiot told me to pull out on front of a bus or get a ticket I have no respect for they way they opperate.
IMO small cars just dont fit the Land Rover Brand… could well turn into another case of Ford “brand mismanagement”, especially if customers get the impression that it is stuffed full of old Mondeo components… a rumour which damaged the Jaguar brand…. but it is a smart looking design.
I saw an awesome Roush Mustang the other day in Manchester. Bit like some of them here - http://www.importmyvehicle.com/motor+show+exhibiting.htm - They’re tacky, crude, old fashioned and brash.
I love ‘em! ;o)
The LR concept looks good but like so many other concepts, the end result never looks like the jaw-dropping designs, shame.
I hate what American television does to classic shows. Don’t get me wrong, I think the new Ford Mustang is a gorgeous auto and the KR kit looks great. But if TV land is going to revisit old ideas they should keep at least some things as intended.
Kitt, for instance, was a Pontiac Trans Am. This gutsy auto was a symbol of America’s driving culture and preoccupation for over-sized engines in the 70s and early 80s:

(Although for the record, the new trans am is atrocious:

The new KR is simply shirking its roots in favor of a facelift. While soft on the eyes, this aesthetic trick makes a mockery of the natural order of things. What does everyone else think?
Have you seen the new BMW X6 .. http://www.bmw.co.uk/bmwuk/index/0,,1156___bs-WDY%3D%40bb-WDYwNw%3D%3D%40sit-bmwuk,00.html
Yeah, I’ve seen the X6. Not sure what to make of it yet, I need to see it in the metal first I guess.
