Clearly some of you just don't get it. So I will spell it out in big capital letters if I may ;) IF YOU DON'T WANT THEM, CLICK THE LINK AND YOU WILL NEVER GET ANY MORE. Ok hopefully that is nice and simple for everyone to follow. The good news is that we have already seen this to be very effective, people are joining programs they have not looked at before and folk without discount code sites are adding the codes to their copy on their normal site, result for everyone.

Oh and Mo Raja, why would finance site not give out discount/offer codes, after all during the years I been in Affiliate Marketing banks have offered free wine, money and other gifts, so why would none of them ever think to offer a special code to access an offer to switch accounts with them?

Many affiliates just don’t do the one thing or the one sector, and most don’t tell you everything and some try not to tell you anything they do so categorising is not fully effective and often pigeon holing someone as this or that means you could be missing out on the other get things they do because you think they are just a “competition” site or such like.

So to recap, if you don't want the emails, click the link or access the affiliate area and you will never see another offer/discount/voucher email again, nice and simple :)

I have finance related affiliate sites and therefore discount codes don't apply to me. Most finance related companies such as loans, credit cards, bank accounts etc. don't offer discount codes and these are the type of affiliate sites that I have. I think Paid On Results should categorise who they send their emails to because these emails are annoying for some and very good for others.

Its about getting information out to Affiliates in a way they can use it - there are two versions of each email sent, the one which Kieron received as he wasn't an Affiliate of the Merchant in question, but if he was already an Affiliate of the Merchant then email would of contained his Affiliate URL and all the other information to start promoting the voucher and Merchant(start date, end date, voucher information, voucher code etc). So I wouldn't really say its a gimmick. But anyone who feels that can simply unsubscribe from them.

Seems to be just another promotion gimmick. You see the alert and then join the program. Not the most inspired idea ever. Hmmm. Wonder if it works.

Hi Rich, the mailing list for the Voucher Alerts are separate to other mailing lists we have. You can use the unsubscribe link in the email to remove yourself from Voucher Alerts and you will receive no more. Or if you no longer have an email, just log into your Affiliate Control Panel, click Voucher Manager and then the Subscribe to Voucher Alerts link and use the options to unsubsribe. Any issues please contact us.

great post kieron, i agree that any tool that networks can offer helps. This sort of heads up email means less thinking for me and also saves time. Keep them coming por and lets hope other networks follow suit

I have to disagree with this post Kieron. I'm not a voucher code affiliate, therefore the e-mail isn't immediately relevant to me. Then it jut becomes a push for another merchant that I can easily find using the POR dashboard. These e-mails have been annoying me for a couple of weeks now - I know it's easy to press delete on an e-mail I'm not interested in but I shouldn't have to.

Maybe they need another mailing list for this type of offer, but they shouldn't assume that by offering a voucher that this e-mail is then relevant to their whole database.

Yeah, agreed. I'm not into codes myself but what a great idea to bring merchant codes to your attention in a simple, standard format. All the information you need is just there, it'd be nice if the other networks followed suit and used the same format.
