Yes I’ve jumped on the Twitter bandwagon, come follow me!
For those of you who don’t know Twitter is a micro blogging social whatsit site. It’s most often compared to the status update on Facebook, you know the one where you tell the world that you’re “watching Coronation Street” or “off down the pub”.
So what’s the point of Twitter? Well it works best if you “follow” a good group of people with similar interests to you I guess. As unlike Facebook you can interact and reply to people’s status threads and start mini discussions. It’s also a good way to promote your blog posts and increase subscribers too. Not only that but you can update and/or receive updates via text message from your phone.
I’ll probably use it to launch some competitions and giveaways for my blog as a bit of an experiment, as I like the fact that the interaction is instant.
Head on over now and see what all the fuss is about for yourself.

Welcome to my blog. My name is Kieron Donoghue and I am the founder of ShareMyPlaylists.com, ContentNow.co.uk and some other businesses. I thought it would be fun to blog, writing about my experiences in Internet Marketing. I'll include some personal stuff too, probably about my other passions, music and cars. Please feel free to post your comments and thoughts too.

I can’t decide if it’s an age thing or that I’m just too busy but I just can’t find the enthusiasm to look into all this social web 2 stuff. However, I’ve subscribed to this posts’ comments via email to see how you get on .. maybe, one day I’ll follow, maybe.
I noticed Twitter when it first started and was a bit sceptical about whether it would catch on but it seems to have proven me wrong!
Do you think this would be a useful way of distributing programme updates? For example, if you could ‘follow’ a specific merchant and get news from their account manager? We’d be happy to give it a go but would need to make sure it would be useful…

I blogged about this only 3 weeks ago, but I have sinced pulled out of a lot of stuff;

If you look at how much info you make available to people its actually quite frightening. Between all online accounts, people can easily see what you look like, know where you live and know when you are out of the house. Next thing you know, some scouser will pay your pad a wee visit
Personally I have gone back to Mobile Phone and eMail.
Its the name which puts me off. Most of my mates are tradies and have a hard enough time understanding what I do… if I mention that “today I was twittering” - I think that will be friendship over
I agree with the comment by Tye. I know that Twitter is gaining in popularity for a lot of people but the terminology puts me off. The idea of people on Twitter (twits?) “following” other people just doesn’t sound right in conversation.
Social web doesnt really interest me, yet I still seem to sign up when im invited by a friend. I guess thats the best form of marketing. Getting your own family and friends to sell their products.
