Social web doesnt really interest me, yet I still seem to sign up when im invited by a friend. I guess thats the best form of marketing. Getting your own family and friends to sell their products.

I agree with the comment by Tye. I know that Twitter is gaining in popularity for a lot of people but the terminology puts me off. The idea of people on Twitter (twits?) "following" other people just doesn't sound right in conversation.

Its the name which puts me off. Most of my mates are tradies and have a hard enough time understanding what I do... if I mention that "today I was twittering" - I think that will be friendship over

K
I blogged about this only 3 weeks ago, but I have sinced pulled out of a lot of stuff;
http://www.webaffiliate.co.uk/blog/miscellaneous/the-definitive-guide-on-how-to-stalk-online.html

If you look at how much info you make available to people its actually quite frightening. Between all online accounts, people can easily see what you look like, know where you live and know when you are out of the house. Next thing you know, some scouser will pay your pad a wee visit ;)

Personally I have gone back to Mobile Phone and eMail.

I noticed Twitter when it first started and was a bit sceptical about whether it would catch on but it seems to have proven me wrong!

Do you think this would be a useful way of distributing programme updates? For example, if you could 'follow' a specific merchant and get news from their account manager? We'd be happy to give it a go but would need to make sure it would be useful...

I can't decide if it's an age thing or that I'm just too busy but I just can't find the enthusiasm to look into all this social web 2 stuff. However, I've subscribed to this posts' comments via email to see how you get on .. maybe, one day I'll follow, maybe.
