Will.i.am featuring Cheryl Cole?! Heartbreaker
Will.i.am has to be one of my favourite artists in recent years. I love the Black Eyed Peas and I love pretty much every record that he has produced/featured on with other artists too. I think he is a great producer and brings a certain special something to otherwise dull records.
Having said that I’m absolutely baffled as to why his first solo album didn’t do as well in the charts as it should have done. Some have called it a flop and some have blamed his record label for releasing a weak track “I Got It From Your Mama” as the first single.
Anyway, after a few false starts it’s great to see that Will.i.am has released one of my favourite tracks from the album, “Heartbreaker”. But…he’s gone and asked Cheryl Cole to sing backing vocals on the single version. This came about from when Cheryl was doing the ITV2 programme “The Passions of Girls Aloud” where she was training to be a street dancer. She was originally set to dance in the video only but Will.i.am asked her to add a few vocals to the track too. The result? Well I prefer the original album version but I see that it makes sense commercially to have a Girls Aloud member featuring on the track. Plus, it has to be said that Cheryl looks fantastic in the video (but not as gorgeous as my fave, Sarah) so it’s not a bad thing.
BTW did anyone see Cheryl in the ITV2 documentary? She came across really well, loads of personality and genuinely funny.
Here’s the vid, best part is the last 60 seconds or so.

Welcome to my blog. My name is Kieron Donoghue and I run UK Offer Media Ltd. I thought it would be fun to post a daily (well hopefully daily) blog, writing about my experiences in Internet Marketing and more specifically Affiliate Marketing. I'll include some personal stuff too, probably about my other passions, music and cars. Please feel free to post your comments and thoughts too.

No, No No, this can’t be true. Please tell me it’s a late April Fools joke? Like you, I really love BEP (saw them in Manchester last year - awesome) but can’t say I ‘love’ the Will.i.am album as much. There are some great songs but the album as a whole is missing something to make it great.
I bought the first BEP album a few weeks back, I think it was launched in 1997, well before the 2 best selling ones and also before Fergie got involved. Very disappointed with it. So much so I’ve only listened to it twice and probably won’t do again. Shame.

I think it’s a great tune - and Cheryl looks smoking!

Good song, Cheryl doesn’t do much in the song so he could’ve had anyone really, but I could look at Cheryl all day long anyway so don’t mind

I like people who can confidently talk about girls aloud without pretending they dont know their names. I prefer Cheryl personally, but Sarah is a close second.
