Ray stole my Google position, give it back!

Yesterday, Ray blogged that his site has risen in Google to number 10 for the term "discount codes". Up until yesterday that was the exact position my site held for that exact term! Now my site isn't anywhere on the first 5 pages for that phrase :( So Ray, can I have my position back please? :) Seriously though, Google does this type of thing now and again. And looking at the A4U Forum here, there seems to be a few other people experiencing the same problem. Last year my site disappeared for the main search terms for a couple of weeks then came back, so I'm sure it's just a temporary blip. I'm still getting traffic from long tail keywords so am not too concerned. What I'm listening to right now: Madonna - "Hard Candy"

I’ve seen this happening for quite a while now – I’m certain it’s Google giving everyone (well, those that count:)) a bite of the cherry – a darned site fairer than the old monthly Google dance.

This current re-indexing seems to be taking a lot longer than normal. I’m not an expert on Google but it is definitely different to what I’ve seen over the past few years. Like you say though, these things usually come back for those sites that have genuine content.

I all for giving everyone a turn, but I would not argue if google just decided to give me residency in a top 3 position for my keywords lol !!

    Hey Keiron,

ive experienced the same thing recently for my blog. I was on the first page like ranked 3rd or something for ‘make money online’ and now i’m on page 2 :s but then again I havent been actively link building for my blog for a while so that may have something to do with it!

Your both in the way of my number one position for ‘discount codes’ ;)
Move over Kieron and Ray and let me move on up!!

The SERPs do seem to be alot more fluid these days which is a good thing IMO. Yes it get on your nerves when you see your website drop, but its nice when it goes on up.

If thats for your site ukoffers. I haven’t been able to access it, for a while. It took ages to load, and never did in the end..

  8. Kieron says:

Andrew – my site is UKOffer.com not ukoffers :)
