Another talentless affiliate: Wiks-Store.com

If you’re a new affiliate looking to enter a certain sector/niche, then do yourself a favour and don’t rip off the site design of another affiliate site.

Yes I mean you Michael Weinreich.

Subtle as a brick in terms of a rip-off! He doesn’t deserve the link either.

  2. Raymond Theakston (9 comments.) says:

He’s not worthy to receive a link

    What a cheeky bugger!

  4. gadget (175 comments.) says:

Agree, I’d remove the link asap.

  5. Hamish (5 comments.) says:

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery after all!!

With the guys, he doesn’t deserve the link.

    Hi Kieron

Have you heard the track ‘bluesin it’ by stephanie mckay!?

I think it was on an ep of hers which came out in 2003 and also appeared on her self titled lp the same year.. Worth a listen if you havent!

    Regards
    Andy

  10. Mark C says:

Maybe it’s a one in a million coincidence?

    Then again, maybe not!

How did you even spot his site Kieron ? His site looks for from ready to send ANY traffic to. Still, this stuff is the dark shadow of our industry.

Atleast he was kind enough to not register privately :) maybe you can arange something with his ISP.

They say if you set up infinite monkeys with infinite typewriters and gave them infinite time they’d eventually recreate the works of Shakespeare.

Seems like one monkey with a laptop can recreate a site in a few days though :-)

Gosh darn it, what a cheek!

  14. Chris (10 comments.) says:

The weird thing is that the UKOffer website is a tableless design while the other copied one is tabled code.

Basically it has taken this guy some effort to code it and has just used your site as sort of a basis. Although i dont agree with him using your images other than that it’s a completely different markup interms of code.

  15. Tye (17 comments.) says:

Come on Kieron, give the man a break… at least he removed your logo :)

  16. Graham says:

Amazing, he even has a copyright notice at the bottom. And you were quick picking this one up Kieron, it was only registered on 20th June 2008 no wonder the sites not ready.

I would definitely remove the link or at least change the Link Text to something more suitable, how about a small competition to choose something :-)

Thanks for all the feedback guys, much appreciated. It was always my intention to remove the link after a day, I just wanted the guy to know that I’m aware of the fact that he’s a thief.

Thanks to all the networks who have been in touch also to say that they have rejected this so called “affiliate” from their programmes.

Andy C - no I haven’t heard it but thanks for the recommendation. Will seek it out.

  20. MW (1 comments.) says:

I write all my code in Notepad, hand by hand and for my images i used imagestyler… Nothing is stolen… The site is under construction and that´s not finish… I´m new in affiliate, and I get idea from ukoffer.com, because i like this design, but i´m sorry…

  21. Zinc (2 comments.) says:

Nice name and shame Kieron - these people are just lazy and will get nothing from this industry.

  22. Wiks-Store says:

    Hi Kieron..

I thought you are a little quick out …

When you postet the article, the domain had only existed in 4 days..

Since it weren’t done, since I only just have started …

The domain was registered 10 days ago, give me just a chance ….

The picture from UKoffer.com was only temporary, since I haven’t intended to use others …

If you try to look more closely at Wiks-Store, you can watch the picture are already changed, and the source code is far from yours..

All the codes is made in Notepad, by me, and the pictures are made in Imagestyler also by me…

Nothing code from UKoffer.com, only ideas to the design ….

If I am untalented, why did this article see..? -

There is nothing to be afraid of …

Is it illegal to be inspired by other sites, as long as one himself makes the work, and not just copy.?

If you see a great car and make a such, you have then stolen the car..?

    I don’t think so….

Try to take a closer look at the code at wiks-store.com…

What about wiks.dk, when you click at shopping, in the left site of the page, is this shop also a rip of your site..?

    Greetings Michael Weinreich

  24. terlan (1 comments.) says:

This ones so blatant its scarey. You really should just put a
“click here to copy my site” button on your sites.
save them all that “hard” work copying and saving files from you. After all… its really hard to be inspired. poor things.
