The one downside from working from home on a fulltime basis is that I'm never far away from the biscuit cupboard/sweetie jar :) As much as I try to be disciplined I find myself continually making trips to the kitchen to find junk to eat throughout the day. As a consequence of eating rubbish and drinking too much coffee I always tend to have low energy levels and come mid afternoon I feel tired to the bone. I've tried eating healthy and just snacking on fruit but that's really dull and I don't have the willpower.
So, when I heard about
Graze.com I was very interested. The business was set up by ex LoveFilm.com people - and you can tell, compare the 4 step
getting started guide to the one on Lovefilm and you will see what I mean :) Anyway the concept of the site is very simple, you order a box of healthy snacks and they get delivered to your door via first class post. Simple. What makes it really interesting is that they have approximately 128 different items to make up your Graze box. There are loads and loads of dried fruit, fresh vegetables, nuts and seed mixes, deli and bakery items as well as dipping sauces and natural indulgence snacks.
The way it works is that you pick the size of box you want - classic, luxury or specialist nutrition boxes such as a low GI box or post or pre workout boxes. All of which have been designed to give you a healthy balanced and nutritional supplement to your diet. Then after picking your box you get to "rate" all of their products by giving them a "bin", "try", "like" or "love" rating. After that you simply decide what days of the week you want your deliveries on then you're off. They only bill you on the day that your box has been sent and you can cancel your orders or change your days at any time.
I've ordered a Graze Energy box to try and fight out the lethargy I feel in the afternoons. The first delivery is coming tomorrow and I'm genuinely excited! I've always wanted to eat healthier but just didn't know what to eat and researching it seemed too much like hard work. So hopefully Graze will be the solution for me. However I'm now waiting for someone to launch a home delivery healthy fast food service. Again I want to cook healthy but I just don't have the time to research, cook, prepare healthy stuff etc. So if someone could offer a service where they deliver hot, cooked healthy meals to my door then sign me up!
Going back to Graze.com, the site is an absolute joy to use, it's very well laid out, logical and all of my questions were answered. It's obvious the Lovefilm guys have took their learnings from Lovefilm and applied the useability to this site. They don't have an affiliate programme yet but I'm told there is one in the pipeline. I will report back on my first ever Graze box tomorow!
UPDATE: Well my first Graze box came today and I'm very impressed. The packaging is very secure, no juices from the fresh fruit leaked and you get a nice customised label on the inside telling you all about the nutritional value of your box etc. The only problem was that the box didn't fit through the letterbox! Now I have a standard size letterbox but the Graze box was just to wide. Not a problem if you happen to be in when the postman calls but if you're not in then it will get returned to the post office for collection 24 hours later. And by that time I'm not sure what condition the fruit etc will be in.
UPDATE 2: Since my post yesterday I've received the second of my Graze boxes, and this one fit through the letterbox no problem. Well done guys! I've published a photo below as quite a few people were asking what the box looked like. I particularly like the personalised sticker on the inside lid. Also - the days when I have a Graze box I feel so much better in myself in terms of energy and overall feel good factor, muchy better than eating junk all day. Am very impressed :)

“I will report back on my first ever Graze box tomorow!”
Look forward to reading your review of the Graze box. You should have asked them to give you the food for free, for the PR that you’re giving them. (When I was a near-starving cub journalist on a local paper, one of the senior journalists taught me to do restaurant reviews to get a hearty five course meal for free
– and in exchange the restaurant got a review in the paper.)
“So if someone could offer a service where they deliver hot, cooked healthy meals to my door then sign me up!”
Haven’t you heard of Wheels on Meals mate? Get in touch with your local council
This is the kind of thing I would defo order.
As for healthy meals, we have a company (here in Bangkok – chefsxp.com) that partners up with restaurants and handle the delivery service for a $2 flat fee.
There’s hundreds of restaurants to choose from, from the best french restaurants in town to salad bars, British pubs etc. etc. Online ordering is simple and guaranteed delivery within the hour: great for when working late in the night for projects
healthy snacks available to order online at not cheap prices. Who would have thought it eh!?
Ive a better idea for those working from home. get off yer arses (you could do with the excercise) and get some fruit or healthy snacks from your local shop.
Oh…and healthy snacks dont really need that much research (??)
My small ‘wellbeing’ box is the only thing that keeps me going (and keeps me away from all those alluring coffee chain stores).
Nice find Kieron, just signed up for the luxury box twice per week.. friday is the first graze day
nice easy to use site, very uncomplicated
What a great idea! It might not be difficult to buy fruit and veg from the supermarket – but to keep it nice and fresh you have to go 2/3 times a week. Not many of us have time for that. Especially if there isn’t anywhere close by. I think it’s a great solution to erradicate fuzzy mid week peaches – but you’re right about the size of the boxes Kieron… Maybe I will have to get it delivered to work instead
“It might not be difficult to buy fruit and veg from the supermarket – but to keep it nice and fresh you have to go 2/3 times a week.”
Yes. In the Dutch Antilles perhaps. Here in old Blighty I find my fruit and veg lasts a week or two. Then again, I do have one of those Fridge thingies!
Fantastic! Your post inspired me to go and try it out – I’m always snacking on chocolate and junk food at work, so to have this is great. It’s probably cheaper than going to Tesco every day to get some fresh food, and certainly quicker!
Interestingly, I just googled to try and get a picture of one of the boxes to see how big they were, and typed in ‘graze.com boxes’, and you outrank graze.com themselves on google with just this one post!!
Rich – yes I noticed that too, this blog always does well in the serps tbh, nice to know. However Graze rightfully rank first for “graze” which is what most people will probably search for. My next box is due tomorrow so may post a picture here when it comes.
Good to see the concepts “food miles” and “packaging waste” haven’t crossed their minds yet..
That’s madness! Do what I do and hop on the bike for a few mins during the day to get out of the house, nip down to the local shop (support your local retailers!) and buy a couple of apples and a ‘nana.
Graze is a great business idea but for me, as a consumer, it just doesn’t make sense financially. Now if Graze want to convince me otherwise, they can email me for my postal address…
Kieron – how did you find out about this? Was it one of those, send you free stuff and you’ll blog about it? Nice find either way. How do prices compare to the supermarkets?
Gadget – All “Send me free stuff” posts are clearly labelled as such. A friend told me about Graze, and I thought it would be of interest to my readers. I have no idea how prices compare to supermarkets, I expect supermarkets are cheaper. However you pay for convenience.

My first box arrived friday but reception didn’t tell me and I forgot it was coming so I found it today in the mailbox, Have to say I was a bit underwhelmed at the size of the box but when I opened it I was impressed with the quality of the food so all things considered it was good value for money bearing in mind I didn’t have to spend £2 in petrol going to the the shop
Yummy! I can’t wait to try them out.
I have never heard of this site before, these things could make for a good gift too.
Second luxury box came today, was very tasty.. can’t wait for friday
.. can see us making it a 3 times per week order very soon
Agree with you Shane mate, the luxury boxes are the way forward. Worth paying that bit extra to get the deli stuff. Had some fire nuts the other day, lush!

Excellent example kieron. May I add however, that if you booked a gym instructor to come to you tomorrow, you might have to be ready
i.e. the nudge is where you are/ you don’t have to go to another place. Just a thought
Sadly I have not had a good experience with Graze. Perhaps they are not doing very good business and so their level of customer service is slipping?
I ordered a box to arrive last Friday. It arrived on the Saturday. The quality of contents was really good and the packaging great, so I forgave the lateness (could have been the postman rather than graze…) Having said that, they didnt post it out until after 7pm at night so how do they realistically expect it to arrive by the next day?
I ordered a one of box, large, for my dads birthday. When he received it they had substituded a small box because they no longer do the other sizes. I looked really stingy!! At least his arrived on time.
My next box was due to arrive today. Its not here! The email saying it had been sent didnt come through until 11am this morning to who knows when they actually sent it. Will be interesting to see when it does arrive. Maybe if I change the day I want it to be delivered to Thursday, I might actually receive it by the Friday. I mean, whats the point in it arriving Saturday? I am off work and could just go to the shops then….
I really wanted this service to work because I thought it was a great idea, the packaging and content are brilliant. Its likely I will be cancelling soon though, as whats the point in not knowing when or if food is going to arrive in the post?!?
K
Well as they source their food locally and post it the food miles are minimised. The packaging isn’t over the top … the punnets are basically the same as what the food would be in in a shop and the box is the same kind of box you would use to post any object.
My experience of graze isn’t too good…. box didn’t arrive and customer services seems non existent when you need to get in touch.
Binned it off before i’ve received my first box… can’t be doing with the lottery of boxes arriving and shoddy support.
im a dedicated grazer! and i love it! oh and as for fruit in fridges….never ment to be the friut looses all its taste. I live in rural ireland and have never had a problem!! and if idid its the postmans fault!! I love it packaging etc is fantastic! go graze!
Steve, I am trying to cancel with Graze – how did you do it? I can’t call their customers service department and it appears as though you have to click cancel every week to make sure nothing get’s delivered. Am I missing another way you can cancel the service once and for all time??
Thanks,
Claire
Ive just ordered from Graze but i didnt know you could choose your size box. How do you do this?
Charlene, I dont think you can choose your box size any more – They’ve limited it to a choice of box styles, such as their wellbeing box, or classic, for example rather than overwhelming people with choice!
Richard.
I ordered from Graze and found the website arkward to naviagate with now way of confirming anything, or to easity view you order. I had a voucher code and once logged in could see no where for this to be entered and then had to e-mail to have this discount applied of which I then found out this will be taken off my next box. I’ve paid far too much money for these boxes. It’s a great idea but exicuted terribly. I will never shop on Graze again.
Well I just received my 2nd box yesterday and am really impressed so far. My favourites are fajita nuts, razcherries and pitted green olives… looking forward to next weeks box!
Website is really slick and easy to use – does anyone know which company designed/built it?
Am really surprised they didn’t launch an affiliate program straight away though, I’d promote them.
Lisa
Hiya,
I love graze, and it really is not any more expensive than the supermarket on a like for like basis (Prepared etc.). In my local supermarket, a packet of fresh prepared pineapple by itself costs £2 – that’s half a graze box for two thirds of the price, and the pineapple’s sour.
The nuts the provide are of a much wider range than in the supermarket, and I find all the food is of a high standard.
I’ve never had any problem with the timing of my boxes – and the only ting I’ve ever not liked was mulberrys. All in all, good service. Plus it forces me to eat the stuff really, because I’ve already bought it – unlike in a supermarket, where I can mea well, but get tempted by sweet treats.
All in all, good service.
I will have to give them a try, sounds like a waste of energy to me, to send food in the mail, when you can just go to the local farmers market to pick fresh produce up.
How in Heaven’s name can I cancel these Graze deliveries. there’s something very bad about a company that sends one round in circles when trying to cancel. Please help
If anyone knows how to cancel Graze permanently let me know. I’m becoming very annoyed at cancelling and then receiving yet another box.
DON’T TAKE A GRAZE OPENING OFFER! Phew, that to get that off my chest. I signed up on their first free box offer – believed the website when it said you can cancel. I don’t do healthy food – which is why I thought I would try it. But – I don’t like it – I just give most of the stuff away, and Ive tried to cancel – using the method they say on the website. It is confirmed….and then another box arrives and they take my money. They have no telephone number and like the other poster here it is a very frustrating situation. To add injury – even though I’d made initial suggestions on what i did and didn’t like, the last box they sent through is completely in edible for me – I’m getting very angry. I’ve cancelled the deliveries (for all time) again – and will see if they do it again.
For people wanting to cancel for good, have you tried cancelling all future orders, and then cancelling your card details (if they can’t get your money they won’t send you anything), I don’t know if this’ll work I haven’t tried it yet but it’s worth a try.
I love Graze boxes! Everything is so tasty, can’t wait to try more new combinations. Each Monday I receive a box, it comes straight to work and I just can’t wait to see what’s in it! Love it and don’t think the price is exaggerated-I spend much more buying snacks in supermarkets, because I just have to buy in bulk and end up eating too much! Now maybe it’s not value for money in terms of amount of food, but value for money for not overeating too big portions without realizing!
You can delete your card details in your account
This sounds like a really great idea. I’ve read all the comments, all the pros and cons and am still thinking about it at this stage. I am housebound a lot of the time and so can’t get to the supermarket regularly, so if i want snacks i have to buy a big bag (cheaper than buying snack size quantities) and then either they go to waste or i eat far too much in one go. I love the idea of having a weekly treat box delivered to my door, but the one thing that worries me slightly is that the quantities look very small and i’d probably end up eating it all in half hour flat instead of grazing throughout the day/week.
I just ordered my first Graze box, and I’m really excited to try it! The first box is free with a code, so I decided to just go for it. If I like it a lot I’ll definitely keep getting them. The fifth box is also free, which I think is great.
I chose the NibblesBox, and while mine won’t be the healthiest option, it definitely sounds yummy.
The “Bin/Try/Like/Love/Send Soon” system makes it really easy to be sure you won’t recieve anything you don’t like in your boxes. The website is also really easy to use in general, which is always helpful.
If you’d like to get a free Graze box, here’s a code you can use: 8FQPFDC
I’ve always found Graze boxes to be great and the website easy to use. I often send boxes to friends and family if I haven’t seen them for a while too. If there’s anything you don’t like just bin it. Also, if your box is late let them know, they will give you a discount off your next box for the inconvenience. I’ve spread the word at word and now most of the staff in school receive their boxes weekly, it’s a good pick me up at break time instead of the usual staffroom biscuits. We just have to remind each other to redirect or cancel our boxes in holiday times. We’ve found all sorts of uses for the boxes in school too.
Try for free with voucher code :G4CJYHHD
Not had any problems so far, always push back or cancel my boxes as they say and send them the correct day. I have a recent code for a free box if anyone wants to try anyway- 9VJ2ZWZ
Customer service is non existent, had my graze boxes not arriving, only way you can contact them is through a automated system on there website, just no contact back whatsoever, cant email them, no phone number either.
Seems they just want your money and not care if you don’t recieve the items you pay.
Take note GRAZE stop ripping people off! your customer service is the worst i have ever come across it’s disgusting.
