Redwine.co.uk and Whitewine.co.uk

Big thanks to Fraser for the two bottles of wine that he sent me this week. As you can see from looking at the customised labels, these bottles are to promote whitewine.co.uk and redwine.co.uk - nice domains, that Fraser managed to buy from the original owners. As I've been saying for years now, it's always always best to create sites around your interestes/hobbies and by the sounds of it Fraser is starting to get serious about the wine market. Good luck Fraser, am sure you will make a success of it. What I'm listening to right now: Hacienda - 88/89/90 from the floor

I like how the green bottle is designed, definitely cool. Its cool that he is turning his wine hobby into a profitable career.
    till then,

  2. gadget says:

Oh bugger. I registered redwines org.uk with a view to doing the same. Looks like that’s not going to happen now given that I’d be competing with Fraser!

  3. Steve says:

The Red Wine seems more cool than the White. Cool way of improving brand awareness!

  4. Great domains. Notice rosewine.co.uk and all the variants are gone too. Any indication of what he paid for the domains. Four or five figures?

  5. Cash Back says:

I wouldn’t mind getting some good domains like those. Personally I’m not into wine, but it is ideal to be able to work on what you love.

  6. Richard says:

Great promotional idea. How did the wine compare to other wines you had in the past Kieron? Personally, I’m not much of a red wine fan, but white wine goes down a treat!

  7. Did he made those himself? My friend does her own wine and it’s delicious. Plus she can use whatever labels she wants ;)

  8. Cheers for posting Kieron and hope you enjoy the wine.

David – I’m going to keep the costs to my self for now :) However I do think that a really good domain is important for a project.

Unfortunately I wasn’t able to make the wine so I just had to get my own labels designed instead.

  9. With domain names like these this fella just can not wrong. The sky is pretty much the limit if you got keyword rich domains like these. I would love to see where Fraser goes with this, and am heading over to whitewine.co.uk to go take a look.

  10. Czasomierz says:

Well said Jacques – those domain names are the killers. With that names the product just have to succeed. But sure that its quality is also pretty well. In Fraser’s shoes I would give those wines better graphic look. Those bottles are ok but those pieces of paper plastered to the glass are just awful. They are just like it wasn’t professional product but some home-made work. That’s a flaw on the whole project in my opinion
