I would like to see full instructions on how to use twitter to promote websites as i have been looking for ages for this information. I have seen sites that have over 10,000 people following them and they generate great traffic from this, so i would love to learn how to do all this

Following your advice on this blog, I've just started using twitter, but probably not very well at the moment. However, one WP Plugin that I have found useful to retweet my own blog posts is the Tweetmeme plugin.

Hi Dave, I see what you mean about point 1 but it could be made a lot clearer and obvious. Point 3 is as you say, hit and miss. 4 needs a plugin doesn't it? I'd like to see it as a default option in Twitter.

Hi Kieron, twitter already lets you do some of these.

For example:

1) If you see the "Message {user} link on their profile, they're following you.

3) It does this (unfortunately only if the tweet is withing certain restraints). I too would like to see it by default.

4) If you add the hashtag #fb it gets posted to facebook.

Personally, I would like the ability to customize the names of those that I am following.
